Worship service featuring the sermon “The Names of God: Adonai and Yahweh” given by Interim Pastor Rev. Johnny Richards; including scriptures from Exodus 3:11-15; and music performed by music director Risa Poniros, pianist Cheryl Walker and the choir.
From time to time, all of us have probably been given a nickname. Whether it is something one of our family members calls us, or a name given to us at work or school. Nicknames are names given to people by others as they see them and observe them. Nicknames are also ways to remember others. This morning, our pastor continues his sermon series on “The Names of God”. Our scripture passage for today’s service is Exodus 3:11-15 and the scripture reader is Barbara Goodson.
Points to Remember:
- God is “adonai”, or sovereign Lord
- God is “Yahweh”, or the Lord God
- Even in knowing His name, we must trust Him in our actions
- Exodus 3:11 - 15
