Summary

Worship service featuring the sermon “The Seven Last Words of Christ: Abandonment” given by Interim Pastor Rev. Johnny Richards; including scriptures from Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34; and music performed by music director Risa Poniros, and pianist Cheryl Walker.

No one likes to feel lonely and left alone. Feeling like we are abandoned brings up a lot of emotions. Fear, anxiety, confusion are just a few. When Jesus died on the cross, there was a time He felt His Father had abandoned and forsaken Him. In our message today, our pastor continues his series on “The Seven Last Words of Christ”. Today’s word is abandonment. Today we learn that God allows us to experience things to help us grow during these difficult times. The text is from Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34.

Three things we can learn from Jesus’ words:

  1. We have a personal relationship with God
  2. There is a mysterious part of our relationship with God
  3. Silence can help us grow closer to God
